Flammability Testing Labs

Method UL94 in Progress

There is a world of safety standards to which manufacturers must adhere. Many of those standards deal specifically with flammability, or the potential an object has to ignite or burn. To comply with safety standards, manufacturers must submit their products for flammability testing. These examiners, usually certified flammability testing labs, will determine whether the products meet criteria set forth by standards.

Flammability can be quantified through various types of testing; different tests can establish different qualities of the test materials such as the temperature at which it catches on fire and how long it burns. Test materials are assigned ratings based on these qualities, and may be approved for use or rejected as unsafe according to relevant standards.

Applied Technical Services, Inc. is a testing lab, A2LA accredited for multiple types of flammability testing.
