Speed Control Deactivation Switch
ATS Offers Comprehensive Investigation Services

ATS is one of the few labs that can take a fire investigation from the fire scene to the courtroom without having to contract out portions of the technical expertise or the testing required. When a vehicle fire origin is determined to be on the driver’s side of the engine compartment, then it is possible for the cruise control deactivation switch to be involved. This is the switch that deactivates the cruise control when the brakes are applied.

In the case of a Speed Control Deactivation Switch (SCDS), what lab would be better suited than the company that pioneered the Go/No-Go test? ATS is the lab responsible for producing the Go/No-Go test which is used to determine if a SCDS has failed. We utilize a combination of radiography (RT), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and energy dispersive x-ray analysis (EDS) to conclusively determine if the switch has failed.
