ATS Offers Testing to Military Specifications

fatigue

Applied Technical Services(ATS) offers Mil Spec Testing for those companies who are wanting to test components and/or equipment for physical characteristics and operational durability in accordance to Military Specifications. As you can imagine, products used by our US Defense Branches/Sectors may undergo high levels of physical stress and environmental exposures while in use. To ensure our defense team has reliable resources the US Department of Defense standardized processes and materials used in manufacturing high quality products. Because these standards are so thorough, many non-defense entities, technical organization and industries have adopted these regulations as their own.

Lab Capabilities

ATS has multiple departments that perform Mil Spec testing, inspections and calibrations. Our materials testing, environmental testing, nondestructive testing and calibration labs are managed by experts who frequently test and calibrate to the United States Military Standard(MIL-STD). We have outlined each lab/department and the most common requested specifications below:

Weld Testing and Certification
  • 248D - Weld and Brazing Procedure and Performance Qualification
  • 1595A - Qualification of Aircraft, Missile, and Aerospace Fusion Welders
  • 2219 - Fusion Welding Aerospace Applications

*Many MIL-STD for weld qualification have been replaced by AWS, and AMS Standards. ATS tests in compliance to those standards as well.

Electrical Testing
  • 202G Method 301 - Dielectric Strength
  • 202G Method 302 - Insulation Resistance
  • 1344A Method 3004.1 - Contact Resistance
Environmental Testing
  • 810G - Environmental Laboratory Considerations and Laboratory Tests
Nondestructive Testing
  • 1689A - Fabrication, Welding, Inspection of Ships Structure
  • 2035A - Nondestructive Testing Acceptance Criteria

*Many MIL-STD for NDT have been replaced by NAVSEA Standards, ASTM Standards, and NAS Standards. ATS tests in compliance to those standards as well.
