Welding Certs and Qualifications

Applied Technical Services is a leader among welding certification and weld procedure qualification companies. Many of our clients require their welders to be certified, and at ATS we are able to test all aspects of weld procedure and performance qualifications by conducting destructive and nondestructive testing to ensure conformance to code requirements.  We typically utilize ASME, AWS, API and PED/EN standards.

Reasons to Certify or Qualify a Welder:
  • Pre-employment screening
  • Ensure welder can meet a specific code or standard requirements
  • Document or prove welder is qualified under applicable code

ATS' Weld Testing Facility

ATS’ weld testing facility has spacious, well-equipped and properly lit welding booths where test takers can feel comfortable while being observed by our CWIs.  During observation we watch for proper set-up, and ensure recommended techniques that should deliver quality workmanship for the utilized weld process (SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW) are being followed to meet requested codes and standards. ATS also keeps an in-house stock of most common test coupons required to take certification tests and can provide them to the welders at a reasonable cost.

Types of Certification and Qualification:

  • Fillet
  • Grove

Plate or Pipe Positions:

  • Flat
  • Horizontal
  • Vertical
