Ion Chromatography, also known as Ion-exchange Chromatography, is a versatile method of Liquid Chromatography that consists of separating different components in a mixture or compound based on their interactions with a resin. These components are separated according to type and size as they pass through a pressurized column. An extraction liquid absorbs ions that separate from the sample and determines the concentration of the ions and ultimately allows for the characterization and identification of the sample’s components.
