OES Materials Testing
Applied Technical Services performs OES materials testing in our chemical analysis division’s certified material testing laboratory.
Optical Emission Spectroscopy
Optical Emission Spectroscopy, commonly referred to as OES, is a highly efficient analysis method that determines an alloy or metal’s elemental composition. OES materials testing applies an electrical charge to a subject, resulting in plasma discharge with a unique chemical signature. This distinctive discharge allows our chemists to determine a precise assessment of the elemental composition of the sample.
Common OES Materials Testing Applications
OES testing is an effective analysis method to determine a solid subject’s precise quantitative material breakdown. Aside from its obvious applications in manufacturing, this manner of testing has several different uses, such as:
- Research and Development
- Quality Control
- Consumer Product Testing
- Quality Assurance
