A coordinate measuring machine, or CMM, is a device used to measure a physical object’s geometry. CMMs consist of a machine, software, computing system, and complex measuring probes that scan the subject’s surface and acquire information about the material.

Our state-of-the-art FARO Quantum Max is a versatile coordinate measuring machine that is more efficient and effective than previous models of the Quantum Max. The scanner provides highly accurate 3D inspections and scans of small to medium-sized components and parts. The device features three purpose-built Laser Line Probes (LLPs), allowing engineers to select the LLP that best suits their needs for a particular project. The three Quantum Max LLPs are as follows.

FAROBlu Xp

This LLP blends the xR’s accuracy and resolution with the xS’s speed, making it the ideal choice for engineers needing a balanced and well-rounded scan.
FAROBlu xR
This LLP prioritizes accuracy and resolution above all else. The probe is designed to scan small, intricate components with unrivaled precision.
FAROBlu xS
This LLP is incredibly quick at collecting data, making it the ideal probe to scan large parts or subjects with expansive surfaces. The xS features an extra wide scanner that allows users to collect data quickly and efficiently.

ATS’ Dimensional Inspection Lab
Our dimensional inspection lab offers numerous CMM services. Our engineers use their decades of collective experience to develop and execute strategies and procedures that address the unique needs of our clients. In addition to our FARO Quantum Max, we use a Zeiss Metrotom 1500 and North Star Imaging x5000.
