IEC 60950 Hipot Test
The Applied Technical Services Family of Companies conducts High Potential testing in accordance with IEC 60950 Hipot test standards.
IEC 60950 Hipot Test Process
Hipot Testing refers to Dielectric Withstand Testing, a test method that induces voltage to devices, equipment, and machinery to verify insulation integrity. Hipot testing to the IEC 60950 Hipot test standard helps to prevent various hazards that can result in significant damage to assets and serious harm to personnel and consumers. The IEC 60950 Hipot testing procedure consists of the following steps:
Preparation: the test subject is disconnected from peripherals and accessories and a solid ground is verified. All specialized tools and testing devices are prepared and testing parameters are set to align with IEC 60950 specifications, equipment requirements, safety regulations, and/or client-specified parameters.
Testing: voltage is applied to the test subject’s insulation system for a specified duration while any potential voltage leaks are identified.
Data Analysis: Our electrical testing experts thoroughly analyze all data collected during the test to determine insulation effectiveness and condition.
Reporting: All ATS testing procedures include thorough documentation that covers test preparation, testing, test results, and any recommended action.
