Solar Exposure Testing Services
Applied Technical Services’ environmental testing lab provides solar exposure testing to evaluate UV sunlight’s effects on products. Solar exposure testing emulates the effects of varying degrees of sunlight, allowing manufacturers to improve the durability and performance of their products.
The Effects of Solar Exposure
Nonmetallic materials are susceptible to intense sunlight exposure, which may negatively affect the appearance and performance of a material.
Prolonged exposure to sunlight may damage materials in the following ways.

Applied Technical Services' Solar Exposure Testing
Our solar exposure tests consist of alternating cycles of solar radiation that accurately emulate natural sunlight to evaluate a material’s resistance to ultraviolet radiation. We use fluorescent chambers to simulate and accelerate solar radiation experienced in both indoor and outdoor environments. We provide solar exposure testing for products and materials, including:
