Film/Non-Film (NAS410) – Level II – 60 Hours

An advanced course in radiographic techniques which focuses on measuring and improving radiographic image quality, radiographic image interpretation, and radiographic technique development and operation to codes and standards. The course includes a review of radiation safety principles and basic principles of radiography and radiographic image quality; film radiography, including darkroom facilities, techniques, and processing; non-film radiography, including digital image properties, digital system components, digital image processing, details of computed radiography, digital detector array radiography, and computed tomography; radiographic image viewing, application techniques, geometric relationships, and discontinuity triangulation methods; radiographic interpretation, including evaluation of castings, weldments, and aerospace structures; and standards, codes, and procedures for radiography.
