Skidmore Testing

Applied Technical Services conducts Skidmore testing to provide rotational capacity and tension testing for structural fasteners.
Skidmore testing, also known as pre-installation verification tension testing or rotational capacity testing, consists of utilizing tension reading equipment to gauge the capabilities of structural fasteners. This machinery, the Skidmore Wilhelm hydraulic tension calibrator, is used to measure the tension of a bolt installed per the job requirements or the ASTM being followed. Skidmore tension calibration is required to maintain industry compliance when building major structures such as bridges and buildings. Skidmore testing ensures that fastener assemblies meet the required specifications while confirming proper installation procedures were followed.
