XRF Analysis allows for verification and identification of metals in a non-destructive manner. X-ray fluorescence is the type of radiation used for the analysis. Fluorescent or secondary “X-rays” are generated when the sample to be tested is irradiated with high-energy X-rays. Since each element present produces characteristic X-rays that is unique, capturing and interpretation of these emitted X-rays by the XRF spectrometer allows the determination of the material’s chemical make-up. XRF analysis is one of the most practical ways of conducting chemical analysis for many industries and various material types.
