Rope Access Level 1

Applied Technical Services provides an all-inclusive rope access level 1 training program for individual professionals exploring SPRAT level 1 accreditation. Rope access differentiates itself as both a safe and cost-effective solution for accessing work at challenging heights or difficult to reach locations. After completion of the rope access level 1 training, technicians will be capable of performing a scope of inspection, repair, maintenance and access work.

Rope access allows technicians the ability to scale, descend, or move laterally with a network of ropes which eliminates the use of scaffolding or other functional access equipment. Rope access has numerous industrial applications that may include but not limited to:

Certification With ATS

All ATS rope access training classes are taught by SPRAT and/or IRATA Level III certification instructors. The course’s introduction and basic curriculum begins with students learning about the proper use of rope access equipment and conforming standards and regulations. Our hands-on training exercises instructs students on tying knots, combining anchorages, and following rescue protocol in a safe and monitored environment. On completion of the final certification session, all passing students will attain SPRAT Level 1 certification.

SPRAT Level 1

Students that complete certification through the ATS rope access level 1 program are validated to perform SPRAT-compliant practices and techniques. The Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians or SPRAT is an administrative body for industry standards in North America, including safe practices and certification for rope access work.  SPRAT offers three levels of certification beginning with rope access level 1 and with each subsequent stage (level 2 and 3) requiring work experience and training to achieve qualification.

An advantage to pursuing rope access level 1 certification is no prior experience is necessary and students only need to be age 18 years and above to enroll. Rope access level 1 certification is ideal for entry-level workers as it offers eligibility to perform basic rope access functions under the direct supervision of either a level 2 or 3 certified technician.
