Applied Technical Services performs RTCA-DO-160 EMI testing in compliance with the Environmental Conditions and Test Procedures for Airborne Equipment standard set by the Radio Technical Commission for Aeronautics (RTCA).
RTCA-DO-160
This environmental testing standard applies to all sizes of aircraft in several fields, including but not limited to commercial airliners, general aviation aircraft, supersonic transport aircraft, and helicopters. All major aircraft manufacturers adhere to RTCA-DO-160 to ensure the reliability and safety of electronic components and systems in aircraft.
ATS conducts RTCA-DO-160 EMI testing in accordance with the following sections:
- Magnetic Effect (S 15)
- Power Input (S 16 โ 28 VDC and 115 VAC 400Hz)
- Voltage Spike (S 17)
- Audio Frequency Conducted Susceptibility (S 18)
- Induced Signal Susceptibility (S 19)
- Radio Frequency Susceptibility Conducted (S 20)
- Radio Frequency Susceptibility Radiated (S 20)
- Emission of Radio Frequency Energy Conducted (S 21)
- Emission of Radio Frequency Energy Radiated (S 21)
- Lightning Induced Transient Susceptibility (S 22 โ Up to Level 3)
- Electrostatic Discharge (S 25)
