What is ISO 7253?
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) established ISO 7253 as standardized test method for experts determining how coating systems respond to neutral salt spray. During the testing process, experts place samples into an enclosed chamber before being subjected to spray from a saltwater solution with a PH between 6.5 and 7.2. The chamber maintains a consistent temperature throughout the testing process to ensure reliable and repeatable results.
