CEESI, a member of the Applied Technical Services Family of Companies (FoC) offers flow meter calibration services that ensure the accuracy of various types of flow meters. Flow meters are widely used in industrial processes and applications because they collect real-time data revealing important information about operational efficiency. Our A2LA-accredited flow meter calibration lab enables our clients to focus their efforts elsewhere while we minimize the disruptions and costs associated with inaccurate flow meters.

What are Flow Meters, and How are They Calibrated?

A flow meter measures the quantity of liquid or gas that passes through a pipe. Industrial applications require controlled flow rates, so a flow meter is an invaluable tool because it allows operators to monitor mass, volumetric, linear, and non-linear flow rates.

Flow meter Calibration is the process of verifying and if needed, adjusting a flow meter’s accuracy by comparing the meter’s performance to a known reference standard. During the testing process, technicians subject both flow meters to the same flow conditions within the same piping system and observe any differences between the measurements. If needed, technicians adjust the flow meter’s accuracy, ensuring that its precision is compliant with traceable +national or international standards.

Our Flow Meter Calibration Services

Our state-of-the-art flow meter calibration labs provide traceable and precise calibration services for numerous types of flow meters, including, but not limited to the following:

In addition to the flow meters mentioned above, we offer many specialty flow services that meet the particular needs of our clients. CEESI has cutting-edge equipment that can do amazing things, such as calibrating pipeline scales. Our state-of-the-art “Big Air” calibration system can test pressures up to 2400 psi and flow rates exceeding 85 lbm/sec.

Why is It Important to Calibrate Flow Meters?

Calibration is needed to confirm that a flow meter is accurate and reliable. Flow meters can be used in high-risk situations where minor deviations in accuracy can have disastrous effects on people’s safety and well-being. Inaccurate measurements can also lead to increased expenses, as inaccuracy increases the risk of excessive energy consumption and equipment damage.
