The Applied Technical Services Family of Companies (FoC) calibrates turbine meters to ensure that they yield reliable results and comply with regulations.

What is a Turbine Meter?

Turbine meters or turbine flow meters measure the velocity of liquids. The meters rotate the device’s rotor using the liquid’s mechanical energy. The rotational speed directly reflects the velocity of the fluid as it travels throughout the meter. Turbine meters are commonly used in various industries that rely on the measurements of gases, vapors, and liquids, such as:

  • Aerospace
  • Food
  • Oil and Gas
  • Pharmaceutical

Turbine flow meters offer several advantages, including:

  • Easy installation and maintenance
  • Quick respond time
  • Highly repeatable results
  • Inexpensive operation costs

Our Flow Meter Calibration Capabilities

The ATS FoC maintains and operates multiple ISO 17025: 2017 certified calibration labs. Our advanced lab equipment is MIL-STD-45662A compliant, ensuring our calibration instruments adhere to rigorous standards. We offer calibrations for multiple types of instruments, including:

Air and Gas Flow Meters

  • Flow ranges from 1 sccm โ€“ 25,451 slm
  • Pressure ranges from 0 โ€“ 190 psig

Liquid Flow Meters

  • Flow ranges from .0001 gpm โ€“ 700 gpm
  • Best measurement capability ranges from .06 % – .10% of reading

Why is it Important to Calibrate Turbine Meters?

A turbine meter’s accuracy is only as reliable as its calibration. Fortunately, our calibration experts use their decades of collective experience to ensure our clients’ turbine meters are accurate throughout their use. Maintaining an accurate flow meter is essential for the following reasons:

  • Maintaining control over industrial processes
  • Yielding reliable and consistent results
  • Compliance with regulations and standards
