Electromagnetic Compliance Testing
The Applied Technical Services Family of Companies (FoC) conducts electromagnetic compliance testing to evaluate the amount of electronic interference our client’s products produce. Electronics emit electrical energy, which can interfere with nearby instruments, hindering their performance and functionality. Our EMI lab works with clients to ensure their products comply with industry standards and regulations.
What is Electromagnetic Compatibility?
Electromagnetic compatibility, or EMC, measures an electronic instrument or system’s ability to function in a specific electromagnetic environment without disrupting nearby electronics and equipment. All electronic equipment has electromagnetic emissions, some of these emissions are expected, but unexpected emissions can compromise equipment. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulates electromagnetic compatibility, limiting the amount of electromagnetic emissions a device can emit.
