Applied Technical Services performs structural weld testing for aluminum and aluminum-based materials adhering to the AWS D1.2 testing standard.
AWS D1.2: Aluminum Structural Welding
AWS D1.2, the code for aluminum structural weld testing established by the American Welding Society, is a commonly used welding code both in the US and around the world. This aluminum welding code consists of nine different sections, with the first five sections covering general structural welding requirements and the remaining four applying to specific welding conditions and situations. These include nontubular dynamically loaded structures, tubular structures, and nontubular statically loaded structures. AWS D1.2 covers the welding requirements for all aluminum structural alloy-based structures, with the exception of fluid-carrying pipeline systems and aluminum pressure vessels.
