Proposition 65 Warning Labels: Clear and Reasonable

oehha

The Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) has proposed an amendment to warning label requirements that would impact the current short form use. The purpose is to prevent indiscriminate use of short-form warning labels. Currently the short-form warning does not include chemical identification which has resulted in widespread use. As a result, on October 27, 2023, OEHHA issued proposed rulemaking notification to provide modification to the mandatory warning to specifically list the chemical hazard. This will ensure consumers are properly warned of exposure to Prop 65 chemical hazards.
