CPSC Clarifies Component Part Testing & Lead in Textiles

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has been in the process of finalizing the Component Part Testing & Lead in Textiles Rule (16 CFR 1109 and 1500). The purpose of these amendments is to provide more clarification around testing requirements. It became evident that these rules were ambiguous resulting in questions as to whether or not testing was required. The changes should answer questions and provide more clear direction. The effective date for this final rule is January 13, 2016.
