Food and Herbal Supplements
The food and herbal supplements category made up 33% of all notices in the first quarter of 2024, including 345 notices for lead, 50 notices for cadmium, 39 for multiple metals, and three for mercury. Arsenic, PFOA/PFNA, and PFOS were flagged with one notice each.
Chemical Notices
Of all chemical notices, 52% were for metals. This included 591 notices for lead, 52 notices for cadmium, 39 for multiple metals, five for mercury, and one notice for arsenic. 16% of chemical notices pertained to phthalates, with 151 for DEHP, 25 for DINP, 21 for multiple phthalates, 14 for DBP, and two for DIDP across various product types and categories. Of notices for PFAS, 40 were for PFOA, three were for PFOS, two were for PFNA, and one notice was issued for the presence of multiple PFAS.
