ATS can determine the elemental composition of samples using a sophisticated method of ICP-AES analysis. Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectroscopy (more commonly known as ICP-AES analysis or ICP-OES analysis) is a powerful tool that is used to identify trace and major elements in materials.
Our chemical analysis lab is ISO/IEC 17025:2017-accredited to perform ICP-AES analysis according to the ASTM E1479 testing standard. We accept solid and liquid samples, with the added step of digesting solid materials before we begin the analysis. Our expert chemists can use a variety of sample preparation techniques to ensure that we can quantitatively measure not only the major concentration elements but the minor trace elements as well.
Applications
ICP-AES has applications in detecting lead, carbon, iron, and other inclusions that may alter the physical and chemical properties of a sample. This makes ICP-AES analysis a powerful tool for verifying consumer product safety, especially children’s products.
Whether you have a metal screw, a small unknown contaminant particle, or an aqueous sample, ATS can use ICP-AES analysis techniques to determine the composition.
