ATS' Chemical Analysis Lab and Capabilities

Applied Technical Services’ chemical analysis lab is equipped with the latest and most advanced equipment. ATS has been called upon many times to do routine and unique analysis projects. The ATS chemical analysis lab frequently services many industries including nuclear, aerospace, automotive, manufacturing, consumer products, utilities and governmental agencies.

ATS has the capability to analyze a variety of organic compounds in your samples. Whether they are simple alkanes or more complex compounds, our highly qualified staff using state of the art instrumentation can quantify and identify these compounds. So whether you need to determine volatile organic compounds (VOC) or the identification of active ingredients and impurities, ATS offers comprehensive testing services to be able to help solve your analytical problems.

Chemical testing capabilities of metals by ATS Chemistry includes everything from Aluminum to Zinc and all the elements in between. The metals analysis group at ATS has the instrumentation to determine the chemical composition of almost any metal alloy regardless of shape or size. Using our Optical Emission Spectrometers, we can rapidly determine chemical compositions without dissolving the sample. If we have to dissolve your sample due to size constraints, we use microwave digestion techniques and analyze for your elements using Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) techniques.

Polymer analysis employs both physical and analytical methods to verify the chemical, mechanical, and thermal properties of a polymeric material. These properties are instrumental in making sure that the polymer part will perform as required by the end user. ATS offers a wide range of plastic testing capabilities designed to meet all of your analytical testing needs.
Our analysts are very experienced in identifying a wide variety of contamination occurring from plant production lines or processes. Our Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer (FTIR) are key tools in solving contamination issues. Our main focus in contamination testing is to identify the contaminant and to help you determine where it is coming from and how to eliminate it.
Our lab can assist you with conducting the necessary testing to safely market your items to the general public. Our staff is highly knowledgeable with compliance requirements and can provide you with quick response and turn-around time. In addition, we also conduct Mechanical Hazards/Use & Abuse tests to ensure product safety for appropriate age groups under compliance with current CPSC requirements.
