The Applied Technical Services Family of Companies (ATS FoC) offers Boeing plane inspections that help ensure the safety and compliance of Boeing aircraft. Boeing is one of the most recognized names in the aerospace industry. While Boeing has its own in-house inspection and repair capabilities, third-party inspection and testing labs, such as ATS, have become a cost-efficient and viable alternative. Our aerospace NDI lab is equipped with the cutting-edge technology needed to thoroughly inspect Boeing planes and their various components, keeping crew and passengers safe and aircraft compliant.

Understanding the Importance of NDT in the Aerospace Industry

Nondestructive testing (NDT) is an invaluable component of the aerospace industry, where the ability to inspect equipment without damaging it is supremely important. Airplanes and their many parts and components endure immense stress during their operation, and they require rigorous and routine maintenance to maintain their airworthiness. NDT enables experts to systematically assess the condition of a material and determine its integrity or lack thereof. The following types of nondestructive tests are common in the aerospace industry:

Ultrasonic Testing

High-frequency sound waves detect internal flaws such as voids, cracks, and delamination in a range of materials, including airplane wings and engines. Phased array ultrasonic tests are more advanced and ideal for parts with a more sophisticated geometry.

Eddy Current Testing

Using electromagnetic induction, technicians detect otherwise hidden damage, corrosion, or cracking present in a part.

Penetrant Testing

Commonly used to inspect landing gear, welds, and engines, penetrant tests involve technicians using a liquid solution to locate flaws in various metal materials.

Magnetic Particle Testing

Magnetic particle testing is adept at locating surface and slightly subsurface flaws in ferromagnetic aircraft materials.

Radiography Inspection

X-ray technology allows experts to inspect the integrity of aircraft materials and components.

About Our Boeing Plane Inspections

Our aerospace NDI laboratory delivers advanced inspection solutions to Boeing plane maintenance teams, operators, and owners. We offer a full suite of NDT services, allowing our clients to identify issues early, long before they evolve into catastrophic conditions. Our inspections help our clients remain compliant with manufacturer specifications, industry, and aviation regulations, ensuring their aircraft is safe and worthy of the public’s trust. In December of 2025, the FAA announced new airworthiness requirements for specific Boeing planes, and our services are an excellent resource for the owners of effected aircraft.
