ATS has installed a new CT scanner in the Metallurgy, Failure Analysis and Metrology groups at the Marietta Headquarters.
Computed Tomography (CT) is an imaging process that captures and compiles a series of X-rays to render a 3D model of objects, both inside and out. The new machine is a Zeiss Metrotom 1500 machine with 225kV max energy. This machine is specifically designed for higher resolution imaging and measurement capabilities. It will be used for documentation and visualization of legal evidence, visualization of assemblies in failure analysis before destructive testing, and certified dimensional measurements. Target markets are Forensics, Additive Manufacturing of lighter weight materials, and calibration/dimensional inspection clients.
