First Article CT Scanning and How It Benefits the Production Process
Applied Technical Services offers First Article CT Scanning for clients looking to validate the quality of their industrial products. Computed Tomography (also known as CT Scanning) is an efficient, non-intrusive method of measuring the internal and external features of a given component, as well as a vital tool in discovering flaws such as voids and delamination. CT scanning is performed by placing a sample part inside a machine that projects X-rays through the subject, generating images based on data the machine collects. These 2D images are then compiled into a detailed 3D model that shows both the interior and exterior features of the scanned part. First Article CT Scans are a dependable method for determining if a given product meets necessary dimensional and quality requirements, which is why this type of testing is heavily relied-upon in industries such as aerospace, nuclear power, and additive manufacturing.
