Applied Technical Services is a 3D scanning company dedicated to exceeding our clientele’s various testing and inspection needs. ATS relies on modern tools and advanced computer software to perform comprehensive 3D scans through Computed Tomography (CT), CMM, and 3D Laser Site Scanning.
The process of Computed Tomography (CT) involves placing a test material inside a machine that uses an X-ray projector to examine the object from multiple angles, generating data that is converted into a 3D computer model. Capable of discovering near-microscopic flaws inside a test material, CT is often relied upon for conducting failure analysis and thickness measurements. As with the CT method, Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) can be used to scan and analyze a variety of test products and industrial components. ATS’ accurate CMM inspections can provide useful measurements of large, high-density materials of up to 47”x118”x39” and a weight capacity of 5000 pounds. ATS also performs 3D Laser Site Scanning, which can be utilized to generate computer models of accidents or fire scenes in forensic investigations. Please contact ATS customer service if you would like to determine which scanning method is best for you.
