LCR Meter Calibration

Applied Technical Services offers LCR meter calibration services for your electronic test equipment. LCR meters combine the functions of resistance meters, inductance meters, and capacitance meters into a single benchtop or handheld unit. Some designs may also calculate phase angle, dissipation factor, impedance, and susceptance.

LCR meters have many applications for electronic equipment, such as:

A2LA-Accredited Calibration Procedures
Calibration from a reputable company such as ATS helps extend the lifespan of your valuable equipment. LCR meters require periodic calibrations to maintain optimal performance. ATS’ electronic calibration lab is A2LA-accredited to calibrate inductance, capacitance, and resistance measuring tools, such as handheld and benchtop LCR meters. Clients may schedule calibration services regularly for maintenance or after an event that could compromise the meter’s accuracy and precision.

Our first calibration laboratory opened in 1987 and operates from the ATS headquarters. This calibration lab accepts shipments from national and international clients and typically achieves a turnaround rate of 7 to 10 business days with additional expedited service options.

NIST-Traceable Calibrations

The ATS staff is proficient in numerous calibration and inspection procedures to restore user confidence in a device’s reading. If a technician detects flaws or damage that may adversely affect performance, ATS immediately notifies the customer before proceeding.

Our experts apply the designated measurements at key calibration points across the LCR meter’s range before comparing LCR readings with NIST-traceable standards to determine whether the readings are within tolerances or require adjustments.

Our calibration experts operate a variety of specialized equipment to achieve a wide calibration range:

  • Inductance (calibrated at 1 kHz) - from 1 µH to 100 H
  • Capacitance (calibrated at 1 kHz) - up to 1120 µF
  • Resistance - from 0 Ω to 1 GΩ
Official Certificates of Calibration
ATS provides clients with a valid certificate of calibration that includes the as-found and as-left conditions, calibration points and tolerances, lab conditions, and NIST traceability. Clients can easily access their past certificates and other important information on iPortal, our secure web platform.
