Rope Access
Rope access is a specialized discipline that allows the evaluation of structures and equipment at significant heights. This method utilizes practical rope work to allow technicians to access hard-to-reach locations without cranes, scaffolding, or other costly temporary structures. Rope access technicians regularly use several different types of redundancies to ensure safety in case of equipment failure, including:
- A backup fall arrest system that uses two ropes—a working rope and a safety rope
- Additional anchor points—a primary anchor point and two backup anchor points
