One of our most common mechanical testing procedures is high temperature tensile testing. Tensile testing involves gripping a sample and pulling until failure, with respect to applicable standards and codes. Our experts collect the data and plot it onto a stress-strain curve, which serves to quantify specific properties of the material. In doing so, we give clients the necessary information to determine whether a material is appropriate for the application.

High temperature mechanical testing combines furnace heating and tensile testing to evaluate the effects of strain and high temperatures on tensile strength. The Applied Technical Services’ mechanical and tensile testing laboratories are A2LA ISO 17025 accredited to perform various tensile testing standards. Our labs have the capability to test at temperatures up to 1800°F, and force capacities of up to 400,000 pounds. ATS maintains an in-house machine shop where we can prepare testing samples and specialized equipment for client-specific testing setups. Our additional testing capabilities include:
