Applied Technical Services offers a broad range of tensile testing capabilities. Our mechanical testing division employs various methods and equipment to determine the tensile properties of product design materials as required in their product specifications.

Our Tensile Testing Capabilities

The ATS Tensile Testing Lab performs methods to their relevant standards — measuring the test material’s various tensile properties and determining whether these performance traits are appropriate for the product’s intended use by consulting its design specifications. Depending on the client’s needs, our tensile testing process may report measurements for any or all of the following: tensile strength, yield strength, percent elongation, and reduction of area.

Equipment Specifications

  • Mechanical Testing Lab — Maximum force capacity is 400,000 lbs. Maximum elevated temperature up to 1800°F
  • Polymers Testing Lab — Maximum force capacity is 10,000 lbs. Reduced and elevated temperatures ranging from -70 °C to 250°C (-19°F to 482°F).
  • The Tensile Testing Lab has Uniaxial Machines

Our technicians regularly perform tensile testing for our clients. The test materials that they most often receive for analysis include:

  • Metals
  • Fasteners
  • Rebar
  • Metal Wire
  • Pipes
  • Plastics
  • Rubber
  • Composites
  • Tubes
  • Welds

ATS conducts tensile testing to the following list of standards. We are ISO/IEC 17025:2017 (A2LA) accredited to perform this method according to specific standards as noted below:
