Rope Access
Rope access is a specialized discipline that allows the evaluation of structures and equipment at significant heights. This method utilizes practical rope work to allow technicians to access hard-to-reach locations without cranes, scaffolding, or other costly temporary structures. Rope access technicians regularly use several different types of redundancies to ensure safety in case of equipment failure, including:
- A backup fall arrest system that uses two ropes—a working rope and a safety rope
- Additional anchor points—a primary anchor point and two backup anchor points
Rope Access NDI
Industrial structures and machined parts are complex systems that experience extreme fatigue and loads during their lifetime. Nondestructive inspection is a valuable technique for detecting irregularities, identifying failed components, uncovering performance issues, highlighting inadequate control systems, and validating material integrity.
