Nondestructive testing is the analysis of materials, structures and/or components without destroying or impacting the integrity of a structure or component. It includes the examination of unique material characteristics or welding defects and discontinuities in surface and sub-surface compositions. Various test methods are used for detecting defects and irregularities to meet standard or regulatory requirements, prevent accidents, reduce costs, improve product reliability, and provide vital information on maintenance service or repair initiatives.
