Rope Access Level 2
Applied Technical Services offers rope access level 2 training for technicians seeking SPRAT accreditation or reaccreditation. A level 2 certification qualifies technicians to assume more tasks and greater responsibilities than level 1 personnel, establishing a higher level of expertise in the rope access industry. SPRAT-certified level 2 personnel can be designated as rope access lead technicians by a level 3 supervisor, allowing them to perform safety evaluations and take charge of equipment maintenance. These lead technicians may either supervise or work with level 1 rope access personnel while working under the direction of a Level 3 supervisor. To qualify for level 2 SPRAT certification, technicians must have performed 500 hours of documented rope access work while having held a level 1 certification for at least six months.
Certification With ATS
ATS’ rope access certification course involves four days of hands-on training and a final evaluation held on the fifth day. Our classes are administered by training coordinator Brandon Powers, who maintains Level 3 certification with SPRAT. For the first four days, students will practice rope access techniques in our safe indoor training facility, developing familiarity with the recognized industry regulations. Candidates for level 2 certification will prepare to become lead technicians by training to perform basic rescue procedures, oversee level 1 personnel, and take corrective measures to eliminate worksite hazards. Upon completing the final certification session, all passing students will achieve SPRAT certification to the level for which they trained.
