Velometer Calibration

Applied Technical Services offers unmatched velometer calibration services traceable to NIST, with a 5-7 day standard turnaround time. We assist members of the HVAC, agricultural, construction, environmental research, mining and wind energy communities in ensuring their velometers are functioning properly. Our ISO 17025 accredited velometer calibration laboratory equips our highly experienced staff with state-of-the-art wind tunnels that are custom fabricated and computer controlled to meet the specific needs of our clients with greater accuracy and assurance.

Our wind tunnel capabilities can achieve a uniform flow rate of wind speeds up to 35 mps with an accuracy of 1.2%. The straightening vanes of the wind tunnel fan smoothen the airflow to optimize uniformity. Every velometer is meticulously examined at both decreasing and increasing direction of speed so that any hysteresis effects are accounted for. Each measurement is verified by means of comparative calibration of a reference velometer with NIST traceable certification. The repeatability of every calibration is also verified so that results are unquestionably certain.

ATS also provides immediate access to calibration records via our online iPortal system. This streamlined portal allows for real-time updates on the status of equipment currently being calibrated in our laboratory, maximizing equipment maintenance efficiency and tracking. For an additional fee, we also offer expedited calibrations upon request.

ATS performs all calibrations in accordance with an ISO 9001 certified Quality Assurance Program, which satisfies military, nuclear, commercial and aerospace requirements. We are dedicated to providing our clients with clear and accurate data to ensure strict compliance with applicable specifications at competitive prices. Over the years, we have developed a reputation for setting a standard of excellence in full service calibration of precision measuring equipment and we will continue to set that standard as we increase our stake in the field of wind flow calibration.
