ATS’ Mechanical Testing Department provides proof load testing. A proof load test evaluates different devices to ensure they are meeting the appropriate weight bearing capabilities. This test is vital to making sure components are meeting the safety requirements put in place. Proof load tests should be conducted on new devices before being placed in service, or to determine if current equipment is still performing to set expectations. This test should be performed more often if the piece of equipment is safety critical, such as lifting people.

Proof Load Testing Applies to the Following Devices:

  • Chain blocks
  • Cranes
  • Fasteners
  • Hoists
  • Jacks
  • Lifting equipment
  • Lifting Tackle
  • Motor vehicle lifts
  • Scissor Lifts
  • Sling Chain
  • Synthetic or wire ropes
  • Web Sling
  • Winches
