The Applied Technical Services Family of Companies (FoC) conducts accurate and reliable flow meter calibrations. Our flow meter calibration services assist our clients in ensuring their operations run smoothly and efficiently.
What is a Coriolis Flow Meter, and How Do They Work?
A Coriolis flow meter is a mass flow meter that measures a fluid or gas’s mass flow rate using the Coriolis effect. The Coriolis principle suggests that any moving body or mass on or above the earth’s surface will drift sideways due to the earth’s rotation. Unlike some meters, Coriolis meters measure mass flow rate instead of volumetric flow. Coriolis meters directly measure a fluid’s density and flow of mass. These flow meters can detect the twisting motion experienced by liquids as they pass through a tube or pipe. Coriolis flow meters yield highly accurate and sensitive results, making them the ideal choice for a wide range of applications.
Our Coriolis Flow Meter Calibration Services
While manufacturers accurately calibrate their water flow meters, the meter’s accuracy diminishes over time, and the device needs to be calibrated. The ATS FoC provides Coriolis meter calibrations that improve measurement accuracy, ensuring that Coriolis meters remain reliable after repeated use. Our Coriolis flow meter calibration capabilities are as follows:
Coriolis Flow Meter
- Range: 0.1 to 1950 gallons per minute
- Calibration Pressure Range: < 45 pound-force per square inch
- Uncertainty: 0.10% in mass flow rate
- Standard Range of Line Sizes 0.25 to 12 inches
Coriolis Gas Testing
- Flow Rate Range: 0.000015 to 20-pound mass per second or ~300 to 60,000 actual cubic feet per hour
- Calibration Pressure Range: 200 to 1000 pound-force per square inch
- Uncertainty: 0.33% to 0.50% in mass flow rate
- Standard Range of Line Sizes 0.25″ to 8″
