The EPA 24 Testing Method
The method was established in 1984, when the Environmental Protection Agency recognized the need for a uniform standard. This standard mainly focuses on volatile matter in products like paint, varnish, lacquer, adhesives, and other surface coatings.

ASTM and EPA Method Testing
EPA 24 specifies multiple ASTM methods as required and acceptable processes in analyzing the following:
- Coatings
- Paints
- Adhesives
- Fragrances
- Unknown Liquids
Optimally, testing requires 200–300 mLs of sample. We are able to handle finished products or raw materials, materials that have special curing requirements can be adapted to the method. Testing the final product is typically encouraged, because the actual values may be different from the theoretical or calculated quantities when effected by all of the product’s ingredients.
