Nondestructive Evaluation

Nondestructive evaluation (NDE), also commonly referred to as nondestructive testing (NDT) is the process of examining materials, structures and/or components without damaging or impacting the integrity of the tested subject.  The specific practice involves analysis of material attributes or welding flaws and discontinuities in surface and sub-surface formulations.  Nondestructive evaluation combines several test methods to detect defects and irregularities which may help in reducing accidents, cutting costs, meeting regulatory standards or requirements, improving reliability, as well as providing critical data on maintenance service or repair plans.
NDE is an important aspect for any facility maintenance plan while ensuring long-term productivity by implementing a qualified testing and inspection program.  NDE is a preventative measure designed to help avoid equipment failures that may cause injury, unannounced downtime, lost revenue or other negative outcomes.  ATS’ nondestructive evaluation capabilities, in addition to our experience, proactive and consistent support, allows our clients to focus on their operational tasks while increasing safety and reliability.
