ASTM F2028 Glenoid Loosening Testing
The American Society for Testing and Materials developed ASTM F2028 as an outline for measuring how much a prosthetic anatomic glenoid component shifts or pivots before and after cyclic loading. The standard also evaluates the locking mechanisms of humeral components and applies to reverse and standard shoulder implants. During the procedure, technicians load the specimen into a fatigue test machine and apply dynamic rocking forces to the sample.
