Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) affect the air quality of vehicle compartments, which is commonly associated with “new car smell.” Automobile odor is a result of chemical emissions from plastics, coatings, foams, textiles, and leathers. Improving and managing car interior air quality by reducing the presence of off-gassing VOCs is imperative to passenger health. Our chemical analysis lab can perform BMW VOC testing using advanced Thermal Desorption (TD) and chromatography mass spectrometry (GC/MS) instrumentation to measure the amount of volatile organic content present and identify compounds extracted from a sample.
