TL 527 Testing
The Applied Technical Services Family of Companies performs TL 527 testing to identify the tensile strength and other mechanical properties of ABS graft polymers commonly used in automotive manufacturing.
TL 527 Automotive Testing: ABS Graft Polymer Mechanical Testing
TL 527 is a German testing standard for ABS graft polymer materials used in various automotive applications. ABS graft polymers are found in several different automotive parts due to their strength, heat resistance, durability, and resilience. The TL 527 standard establishes a range of tests to ensure these materials comply with quality standards.
Tensile Strength Testing: TL 527 subjects a material to tensile forces, analyzing the amount of force necessary for the polymer to bend or break in order to determine its strength.
Heat Resistance Testing: This test identifies an ABS graft polymer’s ability to withstand high temperatures without melting or degrading. The test subject is exposed to different high temperatures for predetermined periods of time while our automotive testing experts monitor any changes in the material’s appearance. The polymer is then closely analyzed, while any additional changes are documented.
Impact Testing: This test standard monitors an ABS graft polymer material’s ability to withstand various types of impact through weight drop testing. An object of predetermined weight is dropped from various heights onto the test subject, identifying the amount of force required for the subject material to crack or break.
Environmental Testing: TL 527 tests a subject material’s resistance to UV radiation and chemicals, as well as its flammability, to ensure safe use in automotive applications.
