The Applied Technical Services Family of Companies (ATS FoC) conducts large-assembly corrosion testing to help manufacturers assess how industrial assets, critical structures, or entire systems will perform under real-world conditions before deployment or distribution.
Testing the actual asset itself rather than material samples alone delivers actionable data on long-term service life, safety, and reliability. Full-scale corrosion testing gives clients confidence before assets enter service and helps reduce the risk of failure and safety hazards that can lead to costly repairs or recalls down the line.
What Features Make up Our Large Assembly Corrosion Chamber?
With internal dimensions of 3.0m x 4.4m x 3.5m (W x D x H), we test metal assets exposed to environmental corrosion that require full-unit testing. Components taller than 96 inches must be assembled inside the chamber. Our advanced large assembly corrosion chamber supports a wide range of environmental testing methods simultaneously, including but not limited to:
- Standard Salt Fog Testing (ISO 50014, DIN EN ISO 9227, ASTM B117, JIS Z2371)
- Cyclic Corrosion Testing
- Condensation Testing (DIN EN ISO 6370-2)
- High Temperature Testing up to 80°C
- Cold Temperature Testing down to -40°C
- Humidity Testing (100% RH)
What Assets Benefit from Large Assembly Corrosion Testing?
Large assembly corrosion testing helps protect critical assets and complex assemblies where corrosion threatens structural integrity, performance, and safety. Typical applications include, but are not limited to:
- Entire Vehicle Bodies
- Heat Exchangers
- Aerospace Structures
- Structural, Aircraft, and Automotive Assemblies
- Power Gen Equipment
- Industrial Processing Equipment
- Infrastructure assets
- Bridge Components
- Transportation Components
- Utility Structures
- Pipeline sections
- Oil and Gas Equipment
- Pressure Vessels, Tanks, Valves
