Applied Technical Services can provide a UTV / ATV expert witness in the event of litigation. All-terrain vehicles and utility task vehicles are off-roading vehicles capable of reaching speeds up to 35 mph. Due to ATVs not featuring safety restraints such as seatbelts, crashes result in bodily injury or even fatalities more often than with other vehicles. The lack of protection afforded by their design means ATV expert witness testimony becomes a necessity in the case of accidents. Our forensics lab has experience investigating a range of vehicles crashes, including ATVs, UTVs, RVs, golf carts, motorcycles, cars, and trucks.
Upholding Standards
All-Terrain Vehicles and Utility Task Vehicles must meet specific standards issued by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the Specialty Vehicle Institute of America (SVIA). These standards define different classes of ATV and outline various safety tests that each vehicle must pass for compliance. However, each state has its specific laws and definitions regarding ATVs and UTVs. As such, we encourage clients to find out their state’s laws and regulations on ATVs and UTVs.
