NDT Welding Inspection

Applied Technical Services offers NDT welding inspection services for structures, both ferrous and non-ferrous, and components to detect surface and sub-surface defects and discontinuities. Welding processes can introduce contaminants and metallurgical defects into a component. In order to meet quality and safety standards, welds are commonly required to withstand load and stress conditions.  Technicians use various NDT testing methods to detect defects and irregularities; doing so helps to meet regulatory requirements, prevent accidents, reduce costs, improve reliability, and provide vital information on maintenance service or repair records.

ATS’ welding inspectors are certified in accordance with the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT).  In addition, many of our nondestructive testing services are accredited by the National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program (Nadcap) and the American Laboratory for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA). ATS’ certifications and accreditations ensure inspections are carried out to applicable standards.

NDT welding inspections may involve one or any combination of nondestructive testing methods that we can perform either in our advanced lab or at our clients’ facilities.  Technicians evaluate weld procedures and qualify welders using methods determined by industry specifications.

For companies seeking to qualify welders and welding procedures according to industry standards, ATS offers weld testing and training.
