ASTM plastic and polymer tensile testing

Polymer Tensile Test

Applied Technical Services provides a wide variety of Polymer Tensile Tests for various materials and relevant standards. Our tensile testing lab offers a broad range of tensile analysis options.

What is Polymer Tensile Testing?

Polymer Tensile Testing measures the force required to break a given polymer by pulling it apart. This test evaluates various tensile properties to ensure they meet their required product or material specifications. ATS technicians can report measurements for any of the following: yield strength, reduction of area, tensile strength, and percent elongation.

ATS Tensile Testing Laboratory
ATS technicians will conduct polymer tensile tests in our state-of-the-art polymer laboratories. The employ advanced instruments to precisely measure the samples’ elongation, the reduction of its surface area, and the force required to cause material failure. Our polymers testing labs are capable of a maximum force capacity of 10,000 lbs, as well as reduced and elevated temperatures ranging from -70 °C to 250 °C ( -19°F to 482°F).
ATS can determine the mechanical, thermal, or chemical attributes of polymer and plastic samples. We are ISO 17025 (A2LA) accredited to perform over twenty polymer-related test methods according to industry standards. Our experts’ familiarity with various forms of polymer testing allows us to deliver results within a short turnaround.
