The tensile testing laboratory at Applied Technical Services offers bolt tension testing performed by our in-house experts. Our tensile testing experts employ a wide variety of methods to evaluate the tensile properties of certain materials to specific standards and qualifications. The ATS tensile lab performs all tests to relevant standards and product specifications. Using our cutting-edge technology, we can report on tensile strength, percent elongation, reduction of area, and yield strength.
Bolt Tension Testing Basics
Bolt tension testing or torque tension testing measures the required input torque for a bolt to reach a specific tension. Inspectors place the test bolt and washer on the test fixture and tighten them to a specified tension which can then be measured and analyzed. The precise amount of torque is calculated and recorded. We perform all bolt tension tests under the material’s yield strength to avoid any permanent deformation of the subject material.
ATS Tensile Testing Laboratory
In addition to bolt tension testing, our experts in the tensile laboratory offer various testing methods to ensure your needs are met. ATS regularly performs tensile testing on the following materials:
Furthermore, our tensile professionals perform all bolt tension testing and other tensile testing methods to the following standards and accreditations:
