Laminar Flow Element Calibration

The Applied Technical Services Family of Companies (FoC) conducts laminar flow element calibrations for various industries.
What is Laminar Flow Element?
A laminar flow element, or LFE, is a device used to measure gas and air flow accurately. The LFE differs from traditional flow meters because it functions under the laminar flow principle, under which air and gas travel smoothly, with each layer parallel to the next. LFEs can accurately measure the flow rate of dry, clean, and gases and liquids containing no particulate matter. Laminar flow elements offer several advantages over traditional flow meters, including highly accurate results and a wide measuring range.
Our Laminar Flow Element Calibration Capabilities
We conduct laminar flow element calibrations in an environmentally controlled lab to ensure our clients’ flow meters are as accurate as the manufacturer’s specifications suggest. Our flow meter calibration personnel help our clients do the following:
We are ISO 17025 accredited, and our calibrations are traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
Why is it Important to Calibrate Flow Meters?
Manufacturers use flow meters for sensitive operations that require precise measurements with a minimal margin of error. Poorly calibrated flow meters can lead to over or under-estimating flow, negatively impacting product quality and operation efficiency. Those sorts of miscalculations can lead to costly consequences such as equipment failure, safety hazards, and non-compliance issues.
